Bielsko-Biała to miasto w województwie śląskim, na Pogórzu Śląskim. Miasto leży nad rzeką Białą, prawym dopływem Wisły. Bielsko-Biała to również centrum przemysłowe, administracyjne, akademickie, handlowo-usługowe, kulturalne i turystyczne. Jest to miasto jedno z lepiej rozwiniętych miast Polski pod względem gospodarczym.
Miasto oficjalnie powstało 1 stycznia 1951 roku z połączenia Bielska (znajdującego się na Śląsku Cieszyńskim) oraz Białej (położonej w Małopolsce). W okresie 1975-1998 roku miasto było stolicą województwa (województwa bielskiego). Bielsko-Biała to również bardzo ważny węzeł drogowy i kolejowy.
Centrum miasta leży na wysokości 313 m n.p.m, najniższym punkt to Stawy Komorowickie (262 m.n.p.m), a najwyższy to szczyt Klimczoka (1117 m.n.p.m.). Miasto znajduje się na obszarze Pogórza Śląskiego oraz Beskidów Śląskiego i Małego.
W Bielsku-Białej znajdują się parki miejskie takie jak Park Słowackiego, Park Włókniarzy, Park Strzygowskiego, Park nad rzeką Białą, Bulwary Straceńskie, Park Wypoczynku Niedzielnego oraz Park Rosta. W obrębie miasta są cztery zespoły przyrodniczo-krajobrazowe, są to Dolina Wapienicy, Sarni Stok, Cygański Las i Gościnna Dolina.
Odwiedzając miasto warto zobaczyć Stare Miasto (Rynek, katedrę św. Mikołaja, zamek Sułkowskich, pozostałości murów miejskich, ulicę Schodową oraz ulicę Podcienie), Ulicę 11 Listopada, Bielski Syjon (pomnik Marcina Lutra, kościół Zbawiciela, Stary Cmentarz Ewangelicki, gmachy szkolne, Studnię Pastorów), kościół Opatrzności Bożej, architekturę tzw. Małego Wiednia, domy sukienników na Górnym Przedmieściu, Aleję Sułkowskiego, Starą Fabrykę, grodzisko w Starym Bielsku czy dwór lipnicki.
W Bielsku-Białej nie brakuje szlaków turystycznych, jest też 9 szlaków narciarskich (sześć w Beskidzie Śląskim i trzy w Beskidzie Małym), miasto leży na Szlaku Zabytków Techniki Województwa Śląskiego i Szlaku Architektury Drewnianej.
